Privacy information for
Seedling Tasks Pro.
Tasks Pro is built around private, on-device lists, with a separate and optional cloud-shared grocery workspace. This pre-release policy describes how the implemented features are designed to handle information.
1. Overview
Seedling Tasks Pro is an offline-first Android productivity application. Its core task manager is designed to work without an account or an internet connection. Cloud collaboration is an optional, separate feature that uses Google identity and Firebase services when explicitly configured and chosen.
Because the app is in development, this policy must be checked against the final production build before publication.
2. Private information on your device
The app stores lists, tasks, titles, notes, categories, grocery quantities, subtasks, dates, repeat schedules, priorities, completion history, local ordering and related settings in an on-device Room database or private app preferences. Saved filters, templates, language and animation preferences are also app-local.
Private task records are not automatically uploaded when you use the local task manager. The Android app's automatic operating-system backup is disabled in the current implementation.
3. Optional shared grocery lists
If you choose to connect a Google account and use shared grocery lists, the app uses Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication/Firestore for account identity, invitations, permissions and shared-list records. Other people you explicitly invite may view or edit items according to their roles. The app supports owner, editor and viewer permissions in source.
The review-access implementation also offers a separate guest collaboration workspace using Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which assigns a temporary user identifier and stores guest-created lists and invitation records in isolated Firestore collections. Guest mode requires no email address and does not grant access to normal Google-linked shared lists.
Shared grocery lists are separate from private Room lists. Copying local grocery items into a cloud list requires an explicit action; ordinary private tasks are not silently converted into cloud content. Real-device cloud behavior and deployed security rules remain part of pre-release verification.
4. Reminders, notifications and widgets
Task reminders may use Android alarm and notification services, including the optional exact-alarm permission. Notifications can display task titles and offer actions such as snooze or complete. Timing can be delayed by Android power management or denied permissions.
Today and Inbox launcher widgets display selected private task names and counts. Anyone viewing your unlocked home screen may see this information.
5. User-controlled backup and export
You can explicitly save a JSON backup, or export task snapshots in CSV and calendar (ICS) formats using Android's document picker. JSON backups can contain private tasks, notes, lists and history, and are not encrypted. Keep exported files in a trusted location. The app does not automatically upload these private exports.
Import is designed to merge new records rather than replace your existing task database. Calendar exports are static files, not ongoing calendar synchronization.
6. Optional speech capture
If you choose speech input in Quick Capture, the app opens Android's speech recognition interface. Processing may be performed by the speech provider installed on your device and may involve that provider's network services. The app does not request its own microphone permission or intentionally retain audio recordings.
7. Control, retention and deletion
You can edit, archive, delete and restore local tasks through app controls, and clear app data or uninstall through Android. Exported files remain wherever you saved them. Removing the app from a device does not by itself remove records previously sent to a separate cloud-shared list.
To request deletion of a Google-linked or anonymous guest Tasks Pro collaboration account and associated cloud data, visit the Seedling Tasks Pro account and data deletion page. It explains the email request process, verification, the types of information covered, exclusions and retention considerations. Guest review-workspace expiry currently limits authorization after 30 days; it does not guarantee physical deletion of stored records.
8. Service providers and destinations
- Google Identity / Firebase Auth and Firestore: only when optional shared grocery collaboration is enabled and configured.
- Android notification, alarm, widget and document services: platform features used on your device.
- Installed speech-recognition provider: only when you invoke voice capture.
- Apps and destinations you choose for exported files: governed by the destination's own privacy practices.
9. Children and sensitive content
Tasks Pro is a general-purpose organizer, not a school or child-account service. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information into shared lists or home-screen widget-visible titles unless you are comfortable with the associated access.
10. Security and future changes
Private Room data uses Android app storage, and optional shared-list access is designed around Google sign-in and Firebase security rules. These controls must be validated in the release configuration. We will revise this information when the production feature set, services or data handling changes.
